Another week in the life of me... Try to contain your excitement.

I can't believe it's been almost 2 weeks since I've written... Well, last week I didn't have a class... I spent the majority of my days working on props... Which was a good thing, because I had to get those done... Nothing really exciting happened... On my day off, 4th of July, I went and watched fireworks with Lori and Kylee behind Target, and then we went to Wal-Mart, and there we actually had a better view, so we sat on top of the car and watched them for awhile... Eddie called and we got Wendy's, and then we came back to camp, Kylee went home, and Eddie, Lori and I sat on a blanket under the stars for a few hours... I had my melted chocolate frosty, and soggy, cold fries... LOL...

So this week I have 4 kids in my class... It's a much more cooperative group, and they take their time on things... We are actually incorporating drama, and a little bit of sign language this week... There are three girls and one boy... The boy, this afternoon, told me that he's signing up for Creative Arts again next year, and expects me to be there... Unfortunately, I don't think that will happen... But it was sweet of him to say that. (Both him signing up for it, and me coming back.)

So, I've been really stressed lately... I have a online math course I have to finish before college in the fall... It really sucks, because I hardly have time, and when I do, I feel like chilling, because I was so busy with other things... *Sigh*... Oh well... I WILL do it.

Oh, and, something I can't forget... I'M AN AUNT! My mom called me early this morning to tell me that my older sister had a baby girl this morning.... How exciting! My mom, younger sister, and younger brother are on their way to see them... (It's like a 12 hour drive) They offered to swing by and pick me up if I could get a ride to Chicago... But, that would mean I have to stay here longer at the end of the summer... Anyway, I'm staying here... Well, aside from tonight, when I am going to Chicago until tomorrow evening...

In all honesty, I don't really have much to say... Just thought I'd throw a random blog out there for the cyber world to eat... Because not many people read my blog anyway... Haha... Ciao!

Well, staff training week was good... And I won't spend time talking about it much... I got the glass shelf thing at good will... I went with Eddie, Lori, and Pepe... We went to Wal-mart, too... All the staff went to a buffet to eat together... then I went to Target with Eddie, Lori, Pepe and Rommel... But, everything was a little more relaxed...

So, Sunday rolled around... All the little campers came in... 7-9 yr olds. I was working at registration checking off kids as they came in who had already paid in full... Seeing the campers from last year as well as several new faces was awesome!

Monday came, and I started my class... 7 girls and 2 boys. It was harder than I expected. They weren't interested in sign language or drama... So, we just played improvisation games... Some of the kids were saying that the class was boring, and later in the day saying they couldn't wait until class again... There is one girl in particular that I set out to reach though... She was forced to come to camp because her 7 yr old little brother was here(she's almost 11). Anyway, she didn't want to participate in anything, aside from crafts... never really talked much. That night, we did a hug tunnel, as we do almost every night... Well, she walked through with her arms crossed and didn't want anyone to hug her... Straight down the middle of the rows of staff.

Tuesday I got the girl talking a bit. Her mother is apparently an artist... But other than that... Not too much. The class was a little harder teaching, because no one wanted to do improvisation games again...

Wednesday was pretty good. We made fish and rods with art foam, sticks in the woods, and glow in the dark string... plus a few other things... And... then we did popsicle stick things... and yeah.... It was good. Andrew took all the kids out to play tag... except one didn't want to go out... I bet you could even guess who... So, while everyone was playing tag and some other games... I sat inside talking with this girl... Well, I asked her several questions, and then I told her "I noticed that when you go through the hug tunnel, you don't let anyone hug you... Is it ok if I hug you?" And she said "I don't care." So, I said "If you say no, I won't..." and she looked me straight in the eye and said "I don't care." Well, there was no hug tunnel that night. The girls and guys go to different places on camp and have cook outs for supper... And it was the start of my day off...

Thursday(today), I went into town with Andrew, Harmat, and Robbie... We went to Taco Bell, the Mall, Target, Wal-Mart, and DQ... At the mall, Harmat and I went in and tried on dresses... I normally hate doing that, but I saw some dresses I actually liked... and I ended up buying one... I'll try and post pictures... Anyway, when we came back to camp, we watched 50 first dates while eating REESES ice cream cake from DQ... Well, I was in the play tonight... Before the evening campfire program started, one of the little girls gave me a rock "to remember her by". Well, the play is called the Ledge... I play a suicidal jumper... Anyway... I forgot several of my lines, but a bunch of little campers came up to me and were like "I really liked you in the play... Yours was my favorite part." So... We formed the hug tunnel again tonight, and when that girl came through, arms crossed, she leaned more towards my side when she walked past me... and when I hugged her, she smiled... It was awesome... Well, after the staff circle, and talking about the play, I dropped off some props in the ABC building... and then went over to the girls cabin... I started at the top floor, hugged all the girls goodnight... The same girl that gave me 2 rocks last year gave me another one today... and when I told her I still had the rocks she gave me last year, she smiled really big! Well, the middle floor came, I told everyone goodnight and was giving several of the girls hugs.. and there sat this girl just looking at me... I said to her "Would you like a hug?" And she stretched out her arms and gave me this big hug... It was amazing. I was like "Wow... God really used me, just to show a little love to this girl..."

Well, that's my story... I'm exhausted... Goodnight mindsay!

The Beginning of my summer..

Wow... Ok.. So I haven't written in awhile.... Not that anyone really reads my blogs... They are more for my own entertainment and randomness for remember things...

I'll start with Wednesday morning... I woke up, finished packing, had worship with my family and left out the door... My mom and sister drove me to where I was meeting the van that was taking me to camp... We arrived at camp around 5:30 or 6, if I remember correctly. I unpacked my mountain of junk(surprisingly not larger than the guy staff member that was riding with us), and put it in my room... I got the top bunk... (Unfortunately.) I met the majority of the girls and had "cabin talk"... Something I just randomly don't do much... So then we had our little staff introduction meeting... I knew who a lot of them were from previous things(working with them last year, going to camp with them as a kid, etc).

Thursday we woke up and started our worship at 9am. We had team building excercises, and a bunch of random fun... After that we had work assignments. I was with the group that cleaned the dining area. Washing windows, mainly... 3 times... Then we cleaned up sticks from around the lodge... We had our first kickball "game". Split us up into two teams, and just played randomly to learn the rules and have fun. Second time I did it, I kicked straight over the ball... I just laughed and walked away... Then we had policies to go over... And after that.. free time and sleep.

Friday we started things at 8am. We had a quick worship and walked around camp picking up sticks larger than our pinkies... After that we had brunch... Waffles, tater tots and saucettes... At least that's what I ate of what was available... Then more work assignments. Zach and I worked on the Creative Arts building for a bit... Then Tito, Zach and I painted the building in the ampitheater... Tito painted my arm brown... Loads of laughter... (Not copy, but paste.) After that, Tito left around 1:30, so Zach and I walked back to the lodge and helped lay out mulch on the path to the guys cabin. 3:00 came... and it was time for a little snack... and I mean little... a small bag of chips, a cookie, and a glass of lemonade... Fun stuffers... Then... we had the rest of the time chill after another worship/meeting thingy... Until supper at 7 - Haystacks. Then another meeting... And freetime! Haha...

Last Saturday morning at around 7:30 I left with Tito, Michelle, Nikki, Stefan, Andrew, and Whitney(at least I think it was Whitney... I can't remember...). We set out and got lost, turned around, got lost again, and finally reached our destination an hour and a half later... We went to a small church in a small town with a small congregation(about 10 adults). They had their church service, and then Sabbath school... We sang one of our songs that we'll be singing this summer, and we sang All In All...(Which we totally messed up...But whatever) Anyway, we didn't end up staying for Sabbath School or potluck... Someone told us we were welcome to, but we left... We got back to camp in 45 minutes... Big difference from the 90 minutes before... So we spent the day basically relaxing... We watch Facing The Giants that evening... It's actually a really good movie. It got me thinking...

So, Sunday... I cleaned up in the Creative Arts room and made a partial inventory list and a list for shopping... I can't really remember much of what else I did that day... Random duties and stuff...

On Monday, after lunch, Amy, Andrew and I went to pick up Gwyn from the airport, and then we went out shopping in for Creative Arts supplies... It was mad hard... And those things aren't cheap... We didn't get back to camp until 9:30... After a music meeting, I went back up to PJ's place and asked him if I should take all the craft stuff to the building then or wait until the morning.. Well, he said to take the car down there... And I'm like "I don't have my license", he's like "that's fine. We're on camp grounds, it becomes a staff vehicle." I asked him if I should take a ranger instead... then he asked "can you drive?" And I'm like..."I can..."

So I got the keys and got into the car... The gear bar thing was in the middle... and since I don't drive much... I thought it might be a stick shift... So I got out of the car and asked Justin and Sam if either of them knew how to drive a stick, because I thought it was "a stick cause the thing is in the middle". So Justin gets in and starts the car and says "THIS ISN'T A STICK!" All I could do was laugh and say "Obviously I don't drive much."

We went over to the building, unloaded the bags... and on our way back, PJ says over the radio "It's not a stick, Kemily - You took my assistant director."

Tuesday-Thursday was a lot more random duties... I had two ladies come to my Creative Arts class and paint ceramics on a few of the days... I did laundry, cleaned bathrooms, wiped tables, swept floors, helped with kindergarten...

Friday - I had about 15 people come to my class... One boy did almost 10 different ceramic peices... It's was insane. We dressed up Friday evening... I just random threw on a black shirt and continued to wear my orange REESES shirt. We had a youth meeting at like... 7:30 or so... Song service, and then we did bible cherades... after that, I did a skit with Pepe. At our staff meeting that night, they needed someone to do night watch.. So I volunteered... Kylee, Greg, and Robert were already signed up to do it, but Lori wasn't feeling good, so I became her replacement. We drove around on a golf cart or ranger and checked out the grounds... Made sure everyone was quiet and in their areas... Checked the bath houses and dumpsters... etc. Kylee and I went to bed around 2:30, but the guys stayed up until 4.

So Saturday morning, Kylee and I got to "sleep in"... We had to be up and ready for duties by 10:00am. I ended up doing random duties all day... Helping out in the dining all, cleaning bathrooms, checking out the bathhouse... quick, random jobs, mostly... Saturday night we tore down... I started out in the big tent, where I went to pick up a platform slate, and the guy on the other end said "These are heavy... Why don't you let someone else get it." And I just put my hands on my hips and said "What? Are you saying you don't think I'm strong enough?" So this other guy said "If you can do it, I'd applaud you." So I said "Let's go"... Anyway, it easily enough ended up on the trailer... After that, Pepe, Shanti and I took chairs to the maintenance building and put them in the bike shop... As well as some other random things... And headed back to have Big Franks, wrapped with Stripples, and some kind of sweet thing over the top that carmelized... It was really good. I ended up back in my cabin by midnight...

So, today... We finished work duties by noon and headed different places for the rest of the day off...I went town with Harmat... I had originally asked Shanti, but her car was full... We went to Wal-Mart, where I got some snack foods, storage things, sheets, soap, etc... then headed to Pizza Hut where I got a pan pizza with green peppers and pineapple ... Good Will was next. I got 2 pairs of jeans, a pair of orange plaid shorts, and a clear jackets...  There's a clear glass mirror shelf thingy that I thought about getting... So if I get a chance, I want to get that tomorrow. We got back around 5:30... I went back to my room and tried to get on the net, but it wasn't working.. So I took a nap... And then we watched Nanny McPhee... It's a very random movie... Haha... So, basically that brings me to now...with a lot less detail and time consuming things... I'm really happy right now... Cause I'm actually really relaxed... More so than I have been in months...

Goodnight Mindsay!

Trisha's Birthday!!!

So, today all the staff had off. A group of us went to Olive Garden to celebrate Trisha's 19th Birthday... Two tables. Alexx, me, Lauren, Brett... On the other side - Brianna, Danae, Heather, and John.... The other table had Melissa, Matt, Pepe, Tito... - Miriam, Grant, and Trisha.

We then headed over to a place called Kartville... We got 6 Go-Kart tickets and a Mini-Golf game for $10... I did the batting cages a couple of times... Fun, fun!! (Hehe)

After that, we went to the mall, where Alexx and I went shopping... Haha... At Victorias Secret(or as I called it "The VS") We got Trisha a sexy gift there, it was funny. Alexx wanted to get her something, so I helped him pick it out. Then we went to Hallmark(to get a card), and a few other random places... I bought my sister a special item. I randomly called her up and said "Light Blue or White?!" So yeah... Just in case she decides to randomly read this before I give it to her... That "item" will remain confidential. Anyway, Alexx and I took random pictures in the back on the way "home".

Hilarious random funness... Haha... Well, we're gonna go watch a movie!!

Good Night Mindsay!
